You play as "The Doctor", who is an amnesiac that finds himself in the middle of a major conflict that concerns the lives of innocents, Infected and delicate political balance of the entire world.

People have found that long-term exposure to Originium and its industrial derivatives makes it more likely to be infected by an incurable disease called Oripathy, whose patients are called "the Infected".
Oripathy can increase the patient's Arts power in a dangerous way, but tapping into this power will hasten the deterioration process and eventually lead to death, at which point the body becomes a new source of infection.
Despite efforts to elucidate this disease, little progress has been made.
The Terrans hold a deeply rooted hatred towards the Infected ever since the ancient times, causing them to suffer a widespread, systemic discrimination.
Exactly what gives birth to such hatred remains unknown, but this possibly stems from the misconception that Oripathy is contagious (though in reality, person-to-person Oripathy transmission is highly unlikely) that was exaggerated over the years.
A non-governmental military organization formed by persecuted Oripathy victims. They rebel against the non-Infected and their oppressive societies.
The origins of the Reunion Movement could be traced to the advent of Catastrophes in Terra, which leads to the proliferation of Originium and the Oripathy pandemic along with it.
As a result of the Terrans' deep hatred against the Infected, they are marginalized with many non-Infected developing a strong hatred for them.
While many Infected attempted to find a peaceful solution for their plight, those who suffer the worst, united by their grudge towards the Terrans, choose to utilize force to liberate themselves from the systematic oppression they faced.
The world of Terra is similar, if not identical, to our Earth, including having an oxygen atmosphere, a more-or-less identical gravity and atmospheric pressure, and carbon-based lifeforms; even humans from our world will have no issue living on it if they are somehow brought into Terra.
However, what sets Terra apart from our world is the Catastrophes cataclysmic natural disasters which force much of the Terrans to adopt a nomadic way of life through nomadic cities instead of a sedentary one.
A crystalline substance known as Originium is left behind at the site of Catastrophes and is widely used as a source of energy and the catalyst for magic-like Originium Arts.
